News
Only real articles from named, identifiable publishers appear on the news page. Each item shows the publisher, the publication time and the publisher's own feed summary, truncated, and links out to the original. We never republish an article body, never rewrite a story and never present our own writing under a publisher's name. Public-relations wires, paid-placement outlets and rating mills are excluded.
In-house data briefs
Short notes written from this site's own datasets appear in a separate, clearly labelled section, marked "Atlas data brief", and are never mixed into the press list. They are date-anchored to the observation they describe, not to the moment they were generated.
AI-assisted writing
Long-form explanatory text — material descriptions, lesson pages, glossary entries — is drafted with AI assistance and reviewed before publication. The model works from this site's own data and is not permitted to introduce figures; any number that appears in prose also appears in a table with its period and source. The "Ask the Data" tool answers only from a JSON extract of the database, is instructed to say when the answer is not present, and never gives advice.
Figures
Every figure is labelled with its reference period and its source. Where a source withholds a value, the withholding is shown and explained rather than converted into a blank or a zero. Units are stated on every table because they are not interchangeable across commodities.
Independence
No company, government or industry body pays for placement, wording, ranking or inclusion here. Companies appear because they operate assets in the atlas. Nothing on this site recommends any security, product or supplier.
Corrections
If a figure disagrees with its primary source, the primary source wins. Send it to us and we will correct the page and note what changed. Image-rights holders who believe a licence has been misread should contact us; the image is removed while we check.
